Founder & Director
Lucy Rahn created the camp in 2005. She is a Minneapolis native who enjoys sharing her passion for the arts and the outdoors with kids.
As a pre-teen and teen Lucy performed at the Children's Theatre Co. Lucy has a BA in French and Environmental Studies from UW-Madison and an MFA in Dance Performance from Mills College in Oakland, CA. She danced with Kanopy Dance- Madison, Eclectic Edge Ensemble- Minneapolis, Alyce Finwall Dance Theatre- San Francisco, and various artists in NYC.
Lucy has performed the work of Robert Battle (The Alvin Ailey Company), Sean Curran, Trisha Brown, Yvonne Rainer and Molissa Fenley. Her choreography was performed at the Ritz Theatre, Zenon Dance's Studio, Bryant Lake Bowl, and at Mills College and at the Lake Harriet Bandshell. Recently, on stage, she performed at the Guthrie Theater in ROMAN HOLIDAY; as a dancer in the Minnesota Opera's NABUCCO; and as "Caitlin" in "SWING! The Musical", and in a forthcoming web series she played a Deputy Lieutenant named Sarah Dalton. .
In addition to running/instructing for over 10 summers of the camp, Lucy has taught at multiple studios, public schools, gyms and at Saint Paul Academy Middle School, where she choreographed three productions. Lucy has lived in NYC since September of 2013 and has been taking classes in dance, acting and voice, performing, and is starting to explore the world of TV and film. She is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association (AEA) and the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG-AFTRA).
Maria used to attend the camp as a junior helper and has increased her responsibilities and contributions since then. She is currently in high school and is fluent in English and in Spanish. At school, she participates in cheer and Spanish debate. Maria enjoys cooking and is interested in the medical field.
Ruby Carlson is an actor, director, choreographer, composer, and teaching artist based in the Twin Cities. She has degrees in Musical Theatre and History from Drake University, and has been performing and teaching in the Twin Cities area since graduating. She has worked with companies including the Children’s Theatre Company, Northern Starz Children’s Theatre, Lakeshore Players Theatre, Minnetonka Theatre, and the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre. Ruby is also a substitute teacher during the school year, and a teaching artist at various times throughout the year.
